[ she sits up and looks down at him. ]

I can't get into specifics, since it was difficult to just get him to say anything to me about it. But he just needs someone keeping him on his toes.

I know. I have to browbeat you both to admit that you're even a fraction less than okay.

[ she knows why and how they fit together, but also, she would throw them both if she didn't care for them so much. ]

[ her voice is soft, quiet. ]

I don't reject care. If it wasn't for your care, I would be a different person now. I'd be less of one.

[ more of a shell trying to hold on than where she's at now. ]

I don't think I ever told you in so many words, but you did save me. [ with his words, his presence, and his understanding in the graveyard, he saved her. he helped her begin healing. ] I am so grateful to have met you, Tsurumaru-san.

it's a little funny, since overall he has to wrestle with trying to figure out if he really had much impact at the village and camp. yes, he did what he could on the other side, and he can't say he was completely useless, but being alive right now is making a few things more clear.

so, hearing something like this is... he isn't sure what the feeling it gives him is quite yet. ]

[ there is more you can do and more impact you can have while alive. shinobu knows that all too well, with her hands that killed. she isn't glad that they both had to be dead to meet. she thinks he'd have the same impact on her if they both stayed alive at camp. ]

I wanted to be clear. There are some things better left unsaid, but that isn't something I wanted to leave.
