I see. That does make sense. I carry a shortsword for close quarters combat, when there is not enough room to maneuver with a larger weapon. Is choosing between a tantou and a wakizashi simply a personal preference?
i believe it can be preference i suppose one thing to consider is whether or not one would want someone to be aware of the second blade a tantou is much more easily hidden
Ordinarily that would not matter much to me, but I suppose with the situation being as it is here, a blade that can be hidden would be more useful. My sincerest thanks, Tsurumaru. There is always something new to be learned about blades.
Is that so? Swords and weaponry have always been held with a certain prestige in Faerghus. Maintaining and admiring a well crafted blade is one of the few activities I find relaxing.
[ if this was the mini event then tsuru's affection meter would have gone up ]
this may be weird to hear from me but it is fascinating to see how other cultures treat us i had never left japan until these situations started happening to us so getting to meet people like you has been fairly enlightening
I do not think it strange at all. Anyone would be curious in your situation. Even my mother, a queen who would never see combat, owned a blade. They are considered implements of fate. As I understand it in your world, you conserve history, but for us it is believed that a sword can cut a path to the future one desires, just as it may cut the strings that tangle someone in place.
no, that was a similar sentiment to to people who used swords for us as well they are objects who can create both war, but can also eventually lead to peace
