... The six of us didn't have any memories. But they were left hanging around. The little adventures people went on in those ended up being made up of our memories, with gaps filled in with their own.

That was just the gimmick of the place. Longer you were there, the more you lost. Considering the whole thing was some kind of messed up experiment...
