No, Shinobu is... she chose to allow herself to die over killing someone else. It does not bring her any comfort.

I think that the majority of us would do it if we have to. Many likely already have, statistically speaking. But I do trust that if any of those people are put into that situation, if they do kill, it isn't because they want to. And that really is as much trust as you can have in someone in a place like this. That they are working towards the best path for the group at large.

Hm, I think a lot of stuff matters...

I mean, there has to be some end goal here, right? They can't just have us "entertain" them forever, or else that defeats the purpose of even having hostages. There's no point in rescuing them if it never ends.

That's true, we really only have whatever that was before we woke up here... and these places are known to manipulate feelings and memories...

Oh, no. I think I would actually prefer if that was the case?

Basically, every Thursday evening someone would be killed-- the reasoning seems to differ from place to place. At the village, it was possession. At the camp, certain people were tasked with it. Friday we would find the body, and then on Saturday we'd have a trial. And then throughout the weeks there may be odd things that occur that would mess with you.

Lucky you. [He does not say this like he thinks Tsuru is actually lucky.] Even less of a fan of possession than I am people having their arms twisted to hunt us like animals.

[After this, though, he will probably prefer the hunt style maybe. Who knows.]

We just got tossed into the jungle every night, hoping it wasn't our turn to get hunted by two people and some dogs. If you didn't show up for breakfast in the morning, you were probably dead, and we'd dig around for your body as a lunchtime adventure. Then we'd have dinner and a show later where we pointed fingers at each other and prayed we picked the right person.

Then, you know, someone would be picked to kill them over the dinner table before we got sent back out again.

... I guess that is not really a lot of time to make lasting friendships despite the turbulent times.

How long were you there for?

Not a lot of anything screw happened, not counting the game itself. So... yeah, we sort of kept to ourselves.
