[ there is nothing more awkward than trying to sit down at a booth when you have a giant sword strapped to your back. cloud looks very reluctant to take it off but does so, putting it next to him like it is also going to get its own order.

[ the waiter comes back and brings it with distaste. they hate them. cloud looks at the water glass like it might be poisoned ]

That's not what I meant--

[ too late, the waiter is bringing them back two fresh glasses of juice. it is orange. it has pulp. does applebee's even have fresh squeezed orange juice? no. but it is pulpy. ]

... Because they're not real, probably. [ reluctantly sips once. it is thick with pulp. he puts it back down immediately. ]
